Desiccated Coconut, also known as dried coconut flakes, is made by finely shredding or grating the meat of mature coconuts
without adding any other ingredients, and then drying it hygienically. High-quality desiccated coconut is characterized by its clean white color, relatively free from other colors (yellow, brown, black), pure coconut aroma without any rancid smell, uniform size, and free from other materials.
Based on fineness size, desiccated coconut is categorized into extra fine grade, fine grade , and medium grade. Depending on its fat content, it is categorized into Full Fat Desiccated Coconut (high fat) and Low Fat Desiccated Coconut (low fat).
Dried coconut flakes are commonly used as an ingredient in various foods such as biscuits, cakes, confectioneries, and more. Additionally, they can be further processed into other food products like coconut flour, creamed coconut, toasted coconut, sweetened coconut, and coconut chips.
